I am taking a trip up to Canada, going to be in a canoe & roughing it a bit … I don’t have any camping gear in a organization kind –

Question by Wealthy: Exactly where is the closest absolute remote camping website to Philadelphia?
I’m a country boy stuck in the city and am seriously craving some excellent bushwhack camping. I don’t want anything even resembling a plug in camp internet site. I’d like a hike at least a couple of miles, then be in a position to set up camp wherever I select, develop a large fire, possibly shoot off some rounds, etc. I’m willing to drive, but Allegheny is pretty far. Is there anyplace closer?

Go up the north east extension (rt. 476) to the Poconos. There’s great camping anyplace north of the Allentown exit.
About an hour andಔ minutes to Jim Thorpe from Philly.
If your really willing to drive, I suggest the Lake George or Champlain area in upstate NY. It’s about 7 hours from Philly, but blows away something PA has to present.
