Question by psychosolodiver: Is camping on the East Fork of the San Gabriel River dangerous?
I’m preparing a trip to go camping up at the East Fork of the San Gabriel River, near Azusa, CA.
I have been told, “Due to recent occasions, if you have a gun, bring it.”
But, the “current events” have not been explained to me.
Is the East Fork protected? Really should I bring a gun? What really should I be concerned about?

The latest events are meth labs popping up along the river and spring marijuana planting. Nonetheless with the elevated police presence these problems are no longer most likely. There will be a large influx of gold seekers along the complete river, recent publicity and the value of gold have elevated the amount of contemporary Fortyniner’s. Bears also have a substantial presence in the place as well due to all the folks up there leaving trash everywhere.
Personally I would pack some heat, additional due to the fact of the 4 legged problems then the two legged variety. Fishing will be slow no recent stocking of the river. The west fork continues to be beneficial fishing catch and release Fly fishing only above the last bridge. Lots of 4×4′s will be enjoying the off road mud near the lake. I have not been in there seeing that the fires that may perhaps have an effect on exactly where you determine to camp. just above and below the “bridge to nowhere” remains private property and they do not like campers in that place. Most goldiggers will be close to the Baldwin mine section. I feel the expense to bungee jump off the bridge is $ 50. other then that have fun fishing, panning, swimming jumping.
What do you assume? Answer under!

Safe, and hardly camping. Drug labs and gang bangers DO exist, but you will suffer from the smog more.
No, the East Fork of the San Gabriel River is not dangerous.
Brush some paste all over your naked body. Then add one
dollar bills until completely covered with the paper. If you’re
a high roller free free to use higher denominations. You may
stretch when females pull but firearms would spoil your fun.
Just don’t back up too close to campfires or squirrels.
