Question by B.A.D.: How do you go camping though on your period?
I am going camping, likely on my period, and I don’t know what to do. I will be going camping with most of my cousins (which are boys) and there will be no toilets except, for our RV toilet. Could I flush it in the RV or bury my utilized merchandise?

You shouldn’t be flushing your goods anyway, they don’t break down and they expand in water so block pipes each in the toilet and in the pipes additional down the process, which fees millions a year to fix. Some corporations say they’re goods are flushable, but that’s because they are self-regulated so no one particular can inform them not to and it makes their merchandise appear a lot more handy. Normally wrap them up and throw them in the bin, and if camping then you would do this too.
You can normally use menstrual cups, these are improved than tampons or pads anyway as they’re healthier and much more hygienic, you can put on them any time for 12 hours without having leaking or well being danger, they’re a lot more comfortable and a lot easier to use too. Though camping they’re far better because you don’t have to worry about carrying spares or disposal. I know numerous women who camp, hike, travel about the globe, and they all use menstrual cups, I was essentially just reading by an post about this right now, here No Tampons, No Difficulty: Alternative Merchandise for Female Travelers – http://matadorgoods.com/no-tampons-no-challenge-substitute-solutions-for-female-travelers

Question by Peyton S: What type of food ought to I take camping?
I’m riding the C&O Canal from start to finish (185miles) in two days so I’ll be camping 1 evening. What sort of food is very good for a trip like this? I always take dried fruit and granola bars but I’ll be needing a breakfast, lunch and dinner at some point. I will not have a camp stove, but fires are permitted in some of the camping regions. I’m searching for one thing pre-packaged, modest, relatively yummy, can get stuffed in a pack and really to prepare.
Thanks for the support peoples!

go to a military or outdoormans store and get some Army MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) some of them are pretty good!
Try taking some meats like ham, cheese, turkey, etc..If you have access to a grill, try cooking some canned goods. Have fun camping.
anything that you can easily cook on fire. depending on what your bringing along but make sure it wont spoil or animals could get in it. hope it helped..
HAVE FUN CAMPING!
The easy answers… MRE’s or freeze dried backpacker food packs will serve your needs with a minimum amount of space and weight. MRE can be bought at any surplus or amry/navy type store and require little for prep. they are around 2500 or more calories per pack and contain Entree/ side / snack/ drink mix/ tp/ spoon/ some have deserts too..
Some will come with a flameless chem heater to warm up the food, and just need a small amout or water to activate. In my area they are about 6 bucks each. A waring about MRE be sure to check manufacture dates and beware of storage methods used by the seller. They have a good shelf life but it is shortened drastically by storing in sunlight or pretty hot places.http://www.longlifefood.com/mre.html#Chart. For the freeze dried backpacker foods, they are very tasty compared to MRE’s but most require boiling water. theye is a large selection of them out there. Some good brands are Mountain House, Backpackers pantry and if you can find it (mostly at REI) Mary Jane’s farm (organic and yummy).I personally avoid richmore as they dont taste as good and are not as easy to prepare (alot require at least 2 containers where the others I listed are all in the bag prep). If you need an easy and lightweight cheap stove do a google for soda can stoves, they are easy to make last for years and are very cheap to make.
Hope this helps.
Bagels and peanut butter or Vienna sausages or whatever else you like on bagels that doesn’t need refrigeration.
Peyton,
In your list you said bacon food from what I am interpreting
make sure the eggs are in cold storage
same with the bacon
and hash browns.
Granola bars would be okay
Fruit would be okay just make sure they are kept fresh
keep the granola bars in their own package
the fruit
for drinks
make sure you have a cooler for them too.
Don’t take anything that will rot
immediately
and make sure you be careful.
try a sports authority near your house, they actually sell a ton of those “astronaut meals,” the freeze dried food and stuff that you just add water to. some of it’s actually pretty good.
